About
Martina Menichetti is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, speaker, educator, music composer and arranger. As part of the Education department of the Philharmonie Luxembourg, she creates and curates a wide range of performances, music workshops and interactive participation projects for children, youngsters and adults. As a freelance educator and musician, she collaborates with a number of associations, schools and institutions on cultural projects.
She was born in Italy and grew up in Luxembourg. She obtained her diplomas in flute, piano and pedagogics at the Music Conservatories of Vienna, Maastricht and Esch-sur-Alzette. In addition, in Munich she studied media management and communication. After internships in stage direction at the Staatsoper and the Volksoper in Vienna, she directed operas for children and worked in concert production, managing hundreds of concerts in her 10 year professional live performance working experience. As a performer herself, her music genres range from pop to jazz, to musical theatre and scenic improvisation, and she specializes in folk music and performs with her group “Authentica”.

Martina Menichetti est musicienne instrumentiste, chanteuse, présentatrice et créatrice de spectacles. Elle travaille dans le département Education de la Philharmonie Luxembourg. Elle est née en Italie et a grandi au Luxembourg. Elle a obtenu ses diplômes en flûte traversière, piano et pédagogie aux Conservatoires de musique de Vienne, Maastricht et Esch-sur-Alzette. En outre, à Munich elle a fait des études de gestion de médias et communication. Après des stages de mise en scène à la Staatsoper et à la Volksoper de Vienne, elle met en scène des opéras pour enfants et travaille dans la production de concerts. Elle est spécialisée en musique celtique-folk et se produit avec son groupe “Authentica”.
Biography
Martina Menichetti was born in Italy and grew up in Luxembourg. She accomplished her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in classical flute, piano, pedagogics and musicology/music theory in Luxembourg, Maastricht and Vienna, and studied Media and Communication Management at the Hochschule Fresenius in Munich.
Classical music has been the main part of her education, but the genres of Pop, Jazz, Musical-Theatre, Folk and Irish Trad/Celtic music are part of her repertoire as well. She has performed onstage as singer and instrumentalist, among others, with the Luxembourgish Folk-group Dullemajik, artists such as Carlos Nunez and Dan ar Braz, and in various musical theatre productions and orchestras.
She has worked as assistant-director, stage manager, press and production assistant at the Lehár Festival Bad Ischl and held assistant-director internships at the Vienna State Opera and the Volksoper Vienna.
As a director, the operas she has staged are Mozart's “Cosi' fan tutte” at the Festwochen Gmunden Festival, Charpentier’s baroque opera “Actéon” in Graz, as well as stagings for children of Pergolesi’s “La Serva Padrona”, Humperdinck's "Hänsel & Gretel" and Weber's "Abu Hassan", productions which toured elementary schools in Munich and were produced by the "Voilà! Opera!" association.
In Munich, she also worked as concert manager, social media manager and business development associate at MünchenMusik. This concert agency organises up to 300 concerts and shows each year in all major venues in Munich (Philharmonic Concert Hall, Prinzregententheater and Herkulessaal among others), presenting world-class orchestras, conductors and soloists like London Philharmonic Orchestra, Daniel Barenboim or Cecilia Bartoli, as well as ballet classics, musical-theatre shows and large-scale live to projection concerts.
She currently lives in Luxembourg, is preparing upcoming solo projects as a singer, flutist and pianist, and works in the Education Department at the Philharmonie Luxembourg. She creates and produces a wide range of performances, music workshops and interactive participation projects for children, teens, schools and families, and is working together with musicians, actors, theatre & opera directors, orchestras and creatives from all over the world.
Lebenslauf
Martina Menichetti in Italien geboren und wuchs in Luxemburg auf. Ihre Abschlüsse (Bachelor und Master) in Querflöte, Klavier, Pädagogik, Musiktheorie und -wissenschaft absolvierte sie in Luxemburg, Maastricht und Wien. Ihr Bachelor in Medien- und Kommunikationsmanagement absolvierte sie an der Hochschule Fresenius München.
Ihr Repertoire umfasst nicht nur klassische Musik sondern ebenfalls Pop, Jazz, Musical, Folk und Irish Trad / Celtic. Als Sängerin und Instrumentalistin ist sie u.a. mit der luxemburgischen Folk-Gruppe Dullemajik, mit Künstlern wie Carlos Nunez und Dar ar Braz, sowie in verschiedenen Musiktheaterproduktionen und Orchestern aufgetreten.
In der Spielzeit 2012-13 arbeitete sie als Regieassistentin und Abendspielleiterin am Lehár Festival Bad Ischl und als Regiehospitantin an der Wiener Staatsoper und an der Wiener Volksoper. Bei der Münchner PR-Agentur Ophelias Culture PR absolvierte sie außerdem ein Praktikum im Jahr 2015.
Die Opernproduktionen bei denen sie Regie führte waren Mozarts “Cosi' fan tutte” bei den Salzkammergut Festwochen Gmunden, Charpentiers Barockoper “Actéon” in Graz, sowie Pergolesis “La Serva Padrona”, Humperdincks "Hänsel und Gretel" und Webers "Abu Hassan" in München. Letztere entstanden im Rahmen des Projektes "Oper in Schulen" des "Voilà! Opera!" Vereins und wurde für Kinder in zahlreichen Grundschulen Münchens aufgeführt.
In München arbeitete sie als Projektmanagerin, Social Media Managerin und Business Development Associate bei MünchenMusik. Die Konzertagentur präsentiert rund 300 Veranstaltungen pro Jahr (Philharmonie im Gasteig, Prinzregententheater, Herkulessaal u.v.m.) mit Orchestern, Dirigenten und Solisten wie das London Philharmonic Orchestra, Daniel Barenboim und Cecilia Bartoli, sowie auch Ballettklassiker, Musicals und großformatige Kinoblockbuster mit Liveorchester.
Sie lebt zurzeit in Luxemburg, bereitet zukünftige Solo-Projekte als Sängerin, Flötistin und Pianistin vor, und arbeitet als Education Manager an der Philharmonie Luxemburg. Dort ist sie als Musikvermittlerin verantwortlich für die Kreation und Produktion eines breiten Angebots an Konzerten, Musiktheaterproduktionen und interaktiven Workshops für Kinder, Jugendliche, Schulen und Familien, in Zusammenarbeit mit MusikerInnen, SchauspielerInnen, Theater- und OpernregisseurInnen, Orchestern und KünstlerInnen aus aller Welt.
Martina Menichetti spricht fließend Deutsch, Italienisch, Englisch, Französisch, Luxemburgisch, Spanisch und Niederländisch.

Authentica
Folk, world and Celtic music
Authentica celebrates the beauty of the songs and stories from past and present traditions through the sounds of folk, world and Celtic music.
The five-piece band founded by singer, multi-instrumentalist and composer Martina Menichetti blends together lively tunes from the Celtic regions with folk songs from Luxembourg, exploring the country’s hidden treasure of legends and danceable tunes.
With songs in English, Luxembourgish and many other languages, Authentica combines ancient and modern instruments, original compositions and traditional songs, mystical ambiences and an energetic stage presence.
